Regular maintenance helps to maintain the performance of CCTV systems. Having your CCTV system maintained also provides you with peace of mind. It is also cost effective to have a CCTV system regular serviced rather than the cost of breakdowns and repairs. Data Protection requirements mean that date/time must always be accurate and picture quality must be clear and concise. On our maintenance visits this is one of many aspects of the system we check during a routine maintenance. We recommend that a CCTV system should be maintained at least once a year. Below are some of the aspects our high trained engineers will examine when carrying out a maintenance visit:
- View sample recordings
- Check sample back up
- Change date/time as applicable to comply with DPA
- Ensure signage meets DPA as applicable
- Check power supply and rate as applicable
- Show that images are clear and concise to meet DPA requirements
- Make adjustments to the camera if possible
- Clean camera lenses
- Clean internals of Digital Video Recorder removing dust deposits
- Complete a visual inspection on the CCTV system
